Tips for flying with your Frenchie

Lets be real, we all love to bring our frenchies everywhere we go. Flying with your French bulldog can cause a bit of anxiety for both you and your furry companion. However, with some careful planning and preparation, you can make the experience as smooth as possible for both of you. Here are some tips for flying with your French bulldog:

  1. Check the airline's policies: Before booking your flight, be sure to check the airline's policies on flying with pets. Some airlines have restrictions on the size and breed of dogs they allow on board, and may have additional fees for bringing a pet on the plane.

  2. Make sure your Frenchie is up to date on their vaccinations: Most airlines require that pets have current vaccination records, so be sure to check with your veterinarian to make sure your Frenchie is up to date on all of their vaccinations.

  3. Get a pet carrier: You will need a pet carrier that meets the airline's size requirements and is suitable for your French bulldog's size and weight. The carrier should be large enough for your Frenchie to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably.

  4. Book a direct flight: If possible, try to book a direct flight to minimize the amount of time your Frenchie spends in the pet carrier.

  5. Prepare your Frenchie for the flight: A few weeks before your flight, start getting your Frenchie accustomed to being in the pet carrier for short periods of time. This will help them feel more comfortable on the day of the flight.

  6. Pack a travel bag: Pack a bag with all the essentials your Frenchie will need during the flight, including food, water, a bowl, toys, and any medications they may be taking.

  7. Arrive at the airport early: Allow plenty of time to check in and go through security, and be sure to inform the airline staff that you will be traveling with a pet.

  8. Keep your Frenchie calm during the flight: Try to keep your Frenchie as calm as possible during the flight by speaking to them in a soothing voice and offering them treats and toys.

Safe travels to you and your pet!
